About Us

About us

Welcome

Wistow Village Church extends a warm welcome to anyone who would like to join us for worship.

Faith

Faith is the cornerstone of our church. It is part of every activity that we do, every meeting that we hold. We believe in our Lord and that our actions are a reflection of His goodness.
Through our ecumenical partnership we commit ourselves to joint prayer and worship.

Partnership

Through our ecumenical partnership we commit ourselves to support one another in renewing and deepening our traditions and in seeking together new ways of enriching the life both of the church as community and of the individual believer. We develop joint planning at our Joint Church Council meeting.

Community

We welcome every one to share in the Lord's unconditional love with us.
Through our ecumenical partnership we work as a team in ministry and pastoral care for the whole community. We co-operate in Christian education and spiritual development, in Christian witness and mission.

Life Events: Baptism/Christening, Wedding and Funeral

Community Links

Wistow Village Church is very fortunate to be able to work alongside a number of other groups in the village; Wistow Village Choir, 1st Wistow Brownies, 1st Wistow Rainbows, 1st Wistow Guides, Wistow Youth Club, Smart Start Pre-School, Wistow Parochial C. of E. Primary School, Wistow Parish Council and the Scarecrow Festival Committee. On many occasions we also work with The Black Swan and fish and chip shop to support all members of our community.

Children's Ministry

Our Parents and Toddlers Group meet each Wednesday during school term time from 9.30am to 11.30am. We work very closely with our local school, Wistow Parochial Church of England School. Members of our clergy team support the school regularly in collective worship and on the governing body.  In addition members of our church act as volunteers as well as serving on the school's governing body. The children and staff use our church buildings for special services throughout the year.  We hold Messy Workshop sessions for the children of primary school age during holiday times.
